A month-long celebration of books in Newquay
Newquay’s independent bookshop Clemo Books is hosting StoryFest Newquay, a month-long celebration of literature, Thursday 30th July – Tuesday 25 August. StoryFest Newquay is funded by the Penguin Children’s Bookshop Grant and we can’t wait for you all to get involved!
Free author-led events and workshops for children aged 4 – 16 are part of the StoryFest Newquay line up which aims to engage children and young people in reading for pleasure and develop a positive, lasting relationship with books.
StoryFest Newquay is being hosted by Clemo Books in partnership with Newquay Library and Newquay Town Council. Clemo Books was one of 44 bookshops in the UK to receive the grant.
Authors taking part include Wyl Menmuir, Becca Rogers, Sarah Tagholm, Tom Palmer, Rebecca Cobb and Craig Barr-Green.
The events will range from engaging storytelling sessions outdoors for little ones, to creative workshops for teenagers. All events are free and all children and young people attending will be gifted a free book from the author leading the event. You just need to book a free ticket so we know how many children are coming along and how many books to order!

Based in locations across the town we’ve tried to make StoryFest Newquay as accessible as possible, find events at Newquay Library, green spaces on the outskirts of town and on our bustling high street. All events take place at 10:30am and there is free bus travel for children aged 5 – 15 this August so hopefully that makes it easier to get to StoryFest events too.
Follow us on social media Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date with all of the events and hope to see you at StoryFest Newquay 2026! Wahoo!
We’re so excited to host StoryFest Newquay and Clemo Books would like to thank Newquay Library and Newquay Town Council for all of their help organising and hosting the month-long celebration of books. And special thanks to Penguin Books for choosing Clemo and making all of this possible.
